| As you may have seen elsewhere in the portfolio, we are no strangers to under-floor heating. This is however on a much grander scale.
The concrete slab is insulated with Celotex before a vapour membrane of 1000 gauge DPM is laid.
Then a layer of castellated pipe grid is laid, and pipe is installed.
Then the manifold is plumbed and all the zones are pressure tested.
The screed is then laid over this.
A trench must be dug and the pipes run to the boiler. In this case, the trench was around thirty feet long. The pipes obviously need lagging to prevent heat loss.
The final connections to boiler are made, (zone valves, programmer, thermostat etc).
We also laid the tiled floor in this kitchen, as well as many other elements of work, as detailed in other sections of the portfolio.
